Match Report
Norwich 54-30 Kent
You could have been forgiven for not recognising the Kent Ravens squad on Saturday, after 30 minutes of the match the Ravens were
five tries down. It seemed the three hour trip to Norfolk had taken its toll, and the new-look Saxons side were able to outpace the
Kent side down the flanks on numerous occasions. Thoughts of a come back as grand as Ravens vs. Southampton a few weeks ago came to
mind as the travelling team gained two tries from hooker Jeff Luland on the stroke of half time, but with a mammoth score of 46 – 10
against them as the whistle blow it was a massive hill to climb.
It was a different side that emerged for the second half. The Ravens gained the upper hand early on by dominating the centre of the
field, with tries from Elliot Blackmore, two from in form Manbir Mann and a stunning play in the corner from winger Sean Franz,
while Darren Griffin added three conversions. Nonetheless, the Ravens were on the wrong end of a 54 to 30 defeat as their away days
blues continued.
