Farnborough Falcons rugby league team traveled to Feltham young
offenders prison on Saturday. The mood going up was very tense, as for a
lot of the lads it was their first ever match. The Falcons however
settled their nerves quickly and within ten minutes had scored four
tries. The first 20 minutes of the half by Falcons was smart, playing
simple and quick plays keeping the Eagles at bay. After a few more
scores the Falcons lost touch of the simple but effective plays and
opted for a very flamboyant style, however with a lack of training
together as a team a lot of these plays went to ground and gave the
Eagles possession. In defence the Falcons defended hard and bravely and
kept the opposition to nil at halftime.
The second half was a much closer affair, with the Eagles scoring a very
well worked try, from their monster second row. Soon after they got
another consolation try with a length of the pitch run. The Falcons
still dominated the half, having quality possession and converting that
into points, winning the game 64-8.
