London Griffins went down 52-28 at Bedford Tigers last Saturday in their second London League game of the season.

The Griffins lost play makers Adam Hill and Chris Heading early in the game, two massive blows as due to injury and unavailability the squad was already down to the last 15 players. Despite the absences the first half was very competitive affair. Bedford took an early lead with a converted try after a Griffins handling error from the kick off gave them great field position. Griffins fought back and Alan Hill quickly gained parity with a fine try converted by Chris Heading. Two quick Bedford tries took the score to 18-6 but again the Griffins battled back gamely and Scores from Alan Hill again and Mark Price, both converted by Damien Thomas, took them in level at half time.

Any chances of a win evaporated early in the second half when injuries to Steve Farrar and Arran Shaman meant that for much of the last 40 minutes the away side were down to 11 players. Bedford took advantage and were able to pull away on the scoreboard however in a sign of the spirit that has built within the side this season Griffins battled to the end and were rewarded with further scores for man of the match Alan Hill who completed his hat-trick, and centre Liam Bayly.
