Debut club Southend Seaxes battled bravely but were ultimately well beaten in their first ever match, despite an early try from Luke Bredin. Fullback Cormac Lomasney celebrated his return from an off-season shoulder injury with a hat-trick of tries for the visitors, in a match played in Romford prior to the RLC Premier match between Essex Eels and the Storm first team. Storm Debutant Keith Middleton was the stand-out player scoring two tries for a side well-led by half Andy Gilvary, while in-form teenage centre, and captain, Rob Mitchell also scored a hat-trick.

After this comprehensive display under new coaching duo of Graeme Harker and Steve Cook, the Storm currently sit top of the London League table with three wins from four facing a tough draw in the month ahead.
