In the First London League game of the season the West London Sharks second team started the strongest out of the two teams with a quick try from on loan winger Neil Ayres. But that was the last the last time the West London would be in the lead.

South London came back strong after strong running from Dave Walters who had to go off injured after one of his runs after pulling a hamstring.

At the halfway point of the game Storm were 34-24 to the good. Chris Bevan Storms Young stand off had been running the game well using Andy Brown, Rob Mitchell and Rob Grant to good extent. Jack Murdoch was also running strong from full back helping to break up the Sharks defence.

After splitting their attack and defence open twice more Rob Mitchell scored his second try and put the game totally out of West reach. The final 10 minutes made the scoreline 66-22 which did not really do justice to a good, well organised Wests side that will grow stronger throughout the London league season.

“It was a good start to the season and it’s always nice to start with a win” commented Storm’s second team coach Graeme Harker. “ We looked more organised which is testament to the hard work done in pre season by the team. We will get stronger through the year as the new boys become more settled and get used to each other and we are all now looking massively forward to the season ahead”.
