- 13/08/05:
Broadstairs beat Colchester 40-14 in the 2005 Grand Final. Two quick tries
from Mike Simmonds and Chris Finnery set them on their way to an early 24-0
lead. Colchester, whose side featured a dozen teenagers, refused to roll
over but never managed to make a serious impression on the deficit.
Broadstairs were deserved winners of the competition in their debut season,
and look a strong candidate for a place in the RLC next year.

- 28/05/05:
The Met Police continued
their strong start to the season with a win over Colchester Romans at the
Cavalry Barracks, Hounslow. Colchester fielded a young side, containing half
a dozen 16 year olds. Showing plenty of natural ability, they can be very
proud of themselves for keeping their heads up till the final whistle, but
were gradually worn down by a very strong Police side who are shaping up to
become title contenders this year.

being new to the code, they were well marshalled by their experienced
Australian scrum-half Ben Bryant, and eventually won 32-12 in front of an
encouraging crowd of around 100 people.

- 10/04/05:
With four weeks
to go till the start of the season the signs are promising. 32 matches have
been confirmed so far, which would be an improvement on last year’s total of
28 regular season games, and it is likely that several teams will confirm
further fixtures over the next few weeks. Broadstairs Bulldogs and
Colchester Romans are looking forward to their debut campaigns, while West
London Sharks II are likely to be approaching their championship winning
form of 2003 after a disappointing campaign last year.
